Universal Patient Rights Association Launch Innovative Mobile App to Combat Healthcare Violations in TRNC.
The Universal Patient Rights Association (EHHD) has launched the Patient Monitoring Platform (PMP), a mobile app funded by the EU’s aid program for the Turkish Cypriot community, aimed at reporting and addressing patient rights violations.
The Universal Patient Rights Association (EHHD) has developed a mobile application as part of the Patient Rights Monitoring Project, funded by the European Union’s aid program for the Turkish Cypriot community.
The application, named the Patient Monitoring Platform (PMP), was created to report patient rights violations and provide solutions.
According to the Patient Rights Association, this innovative application aims to enhance patient satisfaction and the quality of healthcare services by enabling the swift and easy reporting of rights violations encountered in healthcare settings.
The EHHD has highlighted several features of the application, including user-friendliness, instant notifications, privacy and security protections, feedback mechanisms, bilingual support in Turkish and English, and sections detailing the addresses and phone numbers of health institutions, along with the 14 basic patient rights.
EHHD President Emete İmge commented on the application, stating, “Our public opinion research indicates that patient rights are frequently violated for those receiving healthcare services. Our association has launched the PMP application to amplify the voices of those experiencing patient rights violations and to protect patient rights. The PMP application, a first in our country, is a crucial tool for safeguarding patient rights and improving healthcare services.”
İmge explained that users of healthcare services can now download the application to their phones and easily report any patient rights violations they encounter during routine health checks or during the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of their illnesses, with the assurance that their privacy is protected.
She emphasized that anyone receiving services from public or private healthcare institutions can use the PMP application, which is available for free. İmge invited all individuals who wish to report patient rights violations and contribute to improving healthcare services to utilize the PMP application.
