Trump and Harris Agree to Live Debate on September 10
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced that he has “reached an agreement” with Democratic candidate and US Vice President Kamala Harris to participate in a live broadcast on September 10.
Trump revealed on his Truth Social account, “I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a debate with Comrade Kamala Harris.”
He mentioned that the debate will be aired live on ABC from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 10. Trump noted, “The rules will be the same as the last CNN debate, which seemed to go down well for everyone except maybe the crooked Joe Biden. The debate will be on the floor and the candidates will not be able to bring notes or cheat sheets.”
Trump’s announcement followed negotiations with Harris’ campaign team over debate protocols, including “muting microphones when candidates are not speaking.”
Despite expressing distrust in ABC and labeling it “Fake News,” Trump had previously given mixed signals about his participation, initially stating he “would participate” and later suggesting he “might not participate” in the live broadcast debate.
