The “Island Cyprus” destination communication campaigns were unveiled at an event held in Lefkoşa Büyük Han. These campaigns, initiated in collaboration with the Deputy Prime Ministry, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, aim to highlight Northern Cyprus’s cultural values, traditions, island life, unique flavors, seasonal herbs, and diverse experiences.

By leveraging internet celebrities, social media channels, and digital advertisements, the campaigns seek to diversify tourist motivations, increase tourism demand from Türkiye, create a unique and attractive brand identity, and position Northern Cyprus as a destination offering a rich cultural experience and warm hospitality.

The campaign’s social media presence can be followed on Instagram and Facebook under the name “adakibrisim.”

SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCERS

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu stressed the nine-month effort behind the campaign during the launch event. He expressed satisfaction with the campaign’s reach through social media influencers, thanking all participants.

Ataoğlu noted that visitors often decide to start businesses or purchase homes in the country, inviting everyone to experience the TRNC firsthand. He also shared an ambitious goal: “Tourism has increased by 40% in the last six months, and we aim for a 100% increase in the next six months.” He believes this target is achievable by increasing flights, introducing new airline companies, and activating alternative maritime services.

DUAL PROMOTION

Gökhan Yazgi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, emphasized the importance of tourism in their cooperation agreements with the TRNC. He explained that their promotional strategy targets both Turkish citizens and international audiences, with the “Island Cyprus” campaign aimed at Turkish citizens and the “Visit and Discover North Cyprus” campaign targeting global visitors.

Yazgi emphasized the importance of showcasing North Cyprus hospitality, the warmth of its people, its culinary delights, and its historical struggles.
