Suspected Murder Shocks Bufavento Villas Community
Retired Briton Andrew Paul Cullen found dead at Bufavento Villas in Çatalköy. Police investigate suspected murder.
The serene community of Bufavento Villas in Çatalköy was shattered this morning by the news of a suspected murder.
Andrew Paul Cullen, a 57-year-old retired British national, was found with his throat slashed near the pool of his residence. The discovery was made by his partner, S.P., who immediately alerted the police. It remains unclear whether Cullen was murdered or if he took his own life.
According to reports, S.P. discovered Cullen’s lifeless body at approximately 10:00 AM and promptly contacted the authorities. While initial thoughts point to Cullen’s death by throat slashing, the police have taken S.P.’s statement for further investigation. Allegedly, S.P. had left the house for a trip to the market and returned to find Cullen lying in a pool of blood by the poolside.
The police have collected various pieces of evidence from the scene and have confiscated several items for investigation. Cullen’s body has been transported to Lefkoşa Burhan Nalbantoğlu Hospital for an autopsy.
Neighbors described the Cullen couple as quiet and reserved. The police are also reviewing surveillance footage from the villas for any additional clues.
An official statement from the police regarding the incident is expected later this evening.
