Prisoner Dies En Route to Hospital at Central Prison

A 45-year-old prisoner at Central Prison fell ill this yesterday morning and subsequently died en route to the hospital, according to a police statement.
The police provided the following details:
“On July 21, 2024, at approximately 9:00 AM, Mehmet Doğu, a convicted prisoner at Central Prison, became ill and passed away while being transported to the hospital by ambulance. The exact cause of death will be determined following an autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.”
