In a statement on social media, Gazimağusa Mayor Süleyman Uluçay announced that the worn-out and damaged plastic garbage containers have been replaced with new iron containers.

Mayor Uluçay stated, “Our municipality’s sanitation department has started installing new iron garbage containers on our streets to replace the old, deteriorated plastic ones. Maintaining the cleanliness of Mağusa is one of our top priorities.”

“THE ‘THINK CLEAN’ SLOGAN IS VERY MEANINGFUL TO US”

Mayor Uluçay continued in his statement:

“While our teams are diligently performing their duties, we especially want our citizens to take responsibility for keeping the environment clean. We find the ‘Think Clean’ slogan, which we have inscribed on our garbage containers, to be very meaningful.

This campaign references the ‘Think Clean’ environmental cleanliness initiative launched under the patronage of Meral Akıncı during the tenure of our 4th President, Mr. Mustafa Akıncı. With the permission of Mr. Akıncı and his team, we aim to relaunch this wonderful campaign for a cleaner Gazimağusa and country in the coming days.”
