Employers Fined for Hiring Workers Without Permits in Güzelyurt

Officials from the Labor Department have issued fines to employers who hired workers without the necessary work permits.

According to a statement from the police, an individual identified as M.B. (male, 25) was spotted by teams from the Güzelyurt Police Department while they were patrolling the Güzelyurt – Lefkoşa Main Road around 9:00 PM yesterday. During an immigration check, it was discovered that M.B. was residing in the country without a valid residence permit.

Further investigation revealed that M.B. was employed as an agricultural worker by E.Ö. (female, 49), despite not having a work permit. M.B. was arrested for lacking a residence permit, and E.Ö. received an administrative fine from the Labor Department for employing a worker without the necessary permit.

The investigation is ongoing.
