Road Closures in Lefkoşa on August 30 for Victory Day Parade
Some roads in Lefkoşa will be closed to traffic tomorrow (Friday, August 30) due to the official parade held as part of the 102nd anniversary celebrations of August 30 Victory Day.
According to the Police Press Bulletin, the road route between the Honda Traffic Lights Junction, Altinbas Petrol Traffic Lights Junction, and Gönyeli Circle will be closed to traffic from 07:00 until the ceremony concludes.
Traffic flow during the specified times will be as follows:
- Drivers coming from the Gazimağusa direction and heading to Near East University can use the Lefkoşa Northern Ring Road and the Near East Boulevard.
- Drivers coming from the Gazimağusa direction and heading to Lefkoşa city center should turn left at the Hamitköy Roundabout and proceed via Mimar Mehmet Vahip Street and Sht. Ismail Beyoglu Street.
- Drivers coming from the Gazimağusa direction and heading towards Güzelyurt can use the Lefkoşa Northern Ring Road and the Gönyeli Circle, or use the Citröen Traffic Lights junction on Mehmet Akif Street in Lefkoşa and the Metehan-Alayköy Ring Road.
- Drivers coming from Güzelyurt and heading towards Lefkoşa should use the Alayköy-Metehan Ring Road or Gönyeli Circle and Dr. Burhan Nalbantoglu Street (State Hospital).
- Drivers coming from Girne and heading towards Lefkoşa can use the Girne-Lefkoşa Main Road, Gönyeli Roundabout, and Dr. Burhan Nalbantoglu Street (State Hospital).
To avoid traffic disruptions, drivers are requested not to park their vehicles on the designated roads and to follow traffic signs and signals during the ceremony rehearsal.
