Cypruvex Workers Protest Unpaid Wages, March to Police Department
Around 50 workers, unable to receive their payments from the Cypruvex company, are marching towards the Police Department to voice their grievances.
Speaking on behalf of the workers, Çağlar Gulamkadir, head of the Güzelyurt District for the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), told Gadara Media, “The workers who have gathered here started their jobs five months ago, but they claim they haven’t received their salaries for the past three to four months. They are saying, ‘We will return if you give us our money, but if not, we won’t go back because we are in a difficult situation.’”
Gulamkadir also highlighted that the workers at Cypruvex are working under challenging conditions, expressing complaints about food, medical assistance, and living conditions. He mentioned that workers whose visas are about to expire are being asked for additional payments.
