40 Million Tons of Rubble Formed in Gaza Due to Israeli Attacks
The United Nations (UN) reported that 40 million tons of rubble have been formed in the Gaza Strip under Israeli attacks since October 7, and that it will take more than 15 years to remove all of the rubble.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) recently shared a post on its social media account highlighting the severe destruction in Gaza resulting from Israeli attacks.
The post indicated that the attacks have generated approximately 40 million tons of rubble in Gaza, and it may take over 15 years to clear this debris.
It was also reported that the cost of removing the rubble is expected to exceed $500 million.
The statement further stressed that the debris might contain unexploded ordnance and hazardous materials, which pose significant threats to the safety of Palestinians in Gaza.
Since the onset of the Israeli army’s attacks on October 7, a total of 38,664 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have lost their lives, and 89,097 individuals have been injured.
Israel’s continuous bombing has left the Gaza Strip in ruins.
