4 Arrested for Illegal Residence in Lefkoşa, TRNC
Narcotics and Crime Prevention teams apprehend 4 individuals living illegally in Lefkosa, TRNC. Court orders prison remand.
The Narcotics and Crime Prevention teams in Lefkosa apprehended four individuals CFO, UCU, EAU, and AS living illegally in the country. The suspects were arrested and subsequently brought before the court.
During the court proceedings, the police detailed an operation conducted on July 16, 2024, at an apartment on Turgut Fahri Street, Küçük Kaymakli Sht. in Lefkosa. It was revealed that CFO and UCU had been residing in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) without permission for a total of 230 days, starting from November 29, 2023.
Further investigations determined that EAU, found on Küçük Kaymakli Sehit Hüseyin Ruso Street, had been without a residence permit in the TRNC for 960 days, dating back to November 29, 2021. Additionally, AS, apprehended in Lefkoşa Ortaköy at 20:45 on July 16, had similarly been without a residence permit for 230 days, starting from November 29, 2023.
The police officer stated that the investigation had been completed and requested that the suspects be remanded in custody. The judge ordered that the suspects be sent to prison for a period not exceeding 20 days.
