Kamala Harris Officially Accepts Candidacy for President

The Democratic National Convention in the United States concluded after four days, with Kamala Harris officially accepting her candidacy for the US presidency. In her acceptance speech, Harris promised, “I will be a president for all Americans.” She criticized her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, describing him as a “non-serious man” and warned of the serious consequences if Trump were to be reinstated as president.

“You can always count on me to put my country above my party and above myself. You can trust me to fight for the American people,” said Kamala Harris, now officially the Democratic presidential nominee.

Harris criticized Trump for prioritizing his interests and those of billionaires over the middle class, stating, “A strong middle class is critical to America’s success.”

On foreign policy, Harris emphasized that NATO and the United States will always support their allies. She accused Trump of encouraging Russian President Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine and declared, “I will always stand with Ukraine.”

“IT IS THE TIME FOR A CEASE-FIRE AND HOSTAGE AGREEMENT IN GAZA”

Harris also addressed her foreign policy objectives, highlighting efforts to end the conflict in Gaza. “President Biden and I are working day and night on the war in Gaza. Because now is the time to make a hostage agreement and a ceasefire agreement,” she said, adding, “Let me be clear. I will always defend Israel’s right to defend itself and ensure that Israel has the ability to defend itself.” She emphasized that the Israeli people should not experience another attack like the one on October 7.

“I WILL NOT SHOW CLOSENESS TO TYRANTS LIKE KIM JONG-UN”

In reference to Trump’s previous meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, Harris asserted: “I will not sympathize with tyrants and dictators like Kim Jong Un who support Trump.”

Highlighting that dictators know Trump can be easily swayed by flattery and favors, Harris claimed that Trump aspires to be an “autocrat.”

“AMERICA IS READY FOR THE NEXT STEP”

“My fellow Americans, I love our country with all my heart. Everywhere I go, in everyone I meet, I see a nation ready to move forward. Ready for the next step in this incredible journey that is America,” Harris said in an appeal to voters.

“I see an America where we hold fast to the fearless faith that built our nation,” she added. “This has inspired the world. Here in this country, anything is possible. Nothing is out of reach.”

The convention concluded with Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, joining her on stage, followed by Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Walz and his wife. Thus ended the four-day Democratic National Convention.
